50 Cent Reacts To Carole Baskin’s ‘In Da Club’ Happy Birthday Cover
It goes without saying that New York rap icon 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” is one of the most popular songs to play at any birthday or turn-up function.
This week, a clip of Carole Baskin, who became infamous after her portrayal in Netflix’s Tiger King docu-series, and her husband, Howard, wishing some happy birthday to the tune of Fifty’s “In Da Club” went viral across social media.
Baskin and her husband covered the song as part of a recorded birthday greeting ordered through Cameo, a site where people can buy personalized messages from celebrities, according to Entertainment Tonight.
“Hey, all you cool cats and kittens. It’s Carole Baskin and Howard Baskin at Big Cat Rescue. We are here with the crib mates to wish Charlotte a happy birthday,” Carole begins in the clip before the two start rapping. Howard even busts out a nearly-empty bottle of Bacardi and pretends to drink from it. Carole then cues up “In Da Club” before she wishes Charlotte a final “happy birthday.”
The moment did not escape Fif’s notice. The G-Unit boss reposted a snippet of the video of their cover to his 26 million Instagram followers and shared his reaction to their rendition of his hit song.
“This song wasn’t music, it was magic, it went everywhere in the world then never went away everyday is somebody’s birthday,” he wrote of the song’s enduring impact.”
