Chuck D, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign And More Sound Off On Kanye’s Presidential Bid
Kanye West set off fireworks over the weekend after he reiterated that he will officially be joining the 2020 race for the highest office in the nation: president of the United States.
The 43-year-old shared the news via Twitter over the holiday weekend, tweeting, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States…#2020Vision.”
Reactions have been pouring in from all over social media in response to the news. Opinions were split down the aisle. The “Wash Us In Blood” rapper had his fair share of supporters already lining up to toss their support behind him. 2 Chainz took to Instagram to express his support. While he was supportive of Ye’s political aspirations, the Atlanta star expressed his disappointment that he had cast his vote early.
“S**t, I hated I voted early real talk,” the “Mercy” rapper captioned a screenshot of the tweet announcement.
Little Brother’s Big Pooh took to Twitter to express his doubt over Kanye’s intentions.
“I know an album rollout from Kanye when I see one,” the North Carolina native issued. Last week, Kanye unveiled his latest single, “Wash Us In Blood” featuring Travis Scott. He also revealed that he’s gearing up to drop his tenth studio album, God’s Country, although a release date has not been announced yet.Ye first expressed his desire to run for office at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and has reiterated the proclamation over the years. Only time will tell if Kanye has any intention about truly running for president. However, according to CNN, he’s already missed the deadline to register as an independent candidate in multiple states and he hasn’t even registered with the Federal Election Committee yet, either.
