Diddy Confirms Return Of 'Making The Band' And The Internet Is Losing It
Well, folks—it’s official! Bad Boy Records captain Diddy is making good on his word to bring back his zeitgeist-golden Making the Band television series.
He teased the possibility of the smash MTV hit’s return last week on social media, revealing that the network contacted him about a comeback. But anyone who knows Puff knows not to throw around such an idea without tossing over a bag for him, too. It appears that MTV not only had the bag, but the right price on it as well. To close the deal, Puff had one more condition: the people’s choice. Using the hashtag #IWantMyMTB, Puff asked the fans who wanted the show back to voice their thoughts on the return of the early 2000s music competition and reality TV series.
And now, ladies and gentleman, the votes are in, and Making the Band is back!
In a new video, Diddy announced the official return of the music competition and reality show series. He saluted Wale and Seth Rogen who threw in their two cents in favor of the series’ comeback, and explained a little bit of its history. Inspiring talents from all over the world, he detailed, Making the Band, was one of the “happiest times in [his] life.” Now that its returning, Puff plans on making the show even bigger and better than what our nostalgia recalls.
In an official statement, Puff praised the return and revisited partnership with MTV. “MTV and I are back together again!!” he said. “’Making the Band’ is coming back bigger, bolder and more cutting edge. MTB on MTV was the pioneer of reality TV. We're going to bring that supernatural energy back to the format and bring the world it's next global superstars."
