Snoop Dogg may be an advocate for LGBT equality when it comes to marriage, but he thinks gay rappers being accepted by hip hop is still an uphill battle. 
Speaking candidly to UK newspaper The Guardian, Snoop says of gays in hip hop, "I don't know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine." When asked why artists like Frank Ocean have been able to top the charts, he responded, "Frank Ocean ain't no rapper. He's a singer. It's acceptable in the singing world."
The Long Beach rapper-turned-reggae star clarified that he has nothing against the LGBT community. "I don't have a problem with gay people," he tells the site. "I got gay homies." Snoop even spoke to TMZ about marriage equality last week, telling the gossip site he supports the cause.

Contradicting his statement, Snoop told the Salt Lake Tribune last August that the world is "ready for an openly gay rapper."
