Between acting on one of TV’s hottest shows and touring, “Empire’s” Bryshere “Yazz” Grey is having a pretty stellar year. And now he can add model and clothing brand ambassador to his growing resume.

Grey is now the new face of denim brand True Religion’s “This Is True” campaign that embodies real confidence and being an original. Gray told BET.com that it’s exciting to represent the clothing company.

“True Religion was the perfect brand for me to collaborate with. Not only do I like their clothes, I also like their message of having a positive attitude, focusing on your dreams and being yourself,” says the 22-year-old.

Grey also admitted that he’s thrilled because he’s never done anything like this before in his career.

“This is my first clothing campaign, so it’s a big deal to me!”

The actor isn’t alone for the “This Is True” campaign—he joins ambassadors Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook and fashion model Ireland Baldwin.

In addition, Grey, who also stars in BET’s upcoming “The New Edition Story” opened up about his own personal style.

“I dress how I feel that day, but if I have to choose what items I cannot live without, I would say my True Religion jeans, pieces from my own fashion line YTG [You're the Greatest] and my track sweat suits. I travel in those all the time and would be kinda mad if I ever lost one of them,” he laughs.

Grey also dished about what’s he learned on the set of “Empire” and working with Oscar nominees Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard.

“This was my first acting gig and it’s been really amazing working with [Taraji and Terrence] and the other actors and directors. We work really long hours and it’s taught me to be a professional, grow as an artist and be a better listener. Listening to the people around you is so important as an actor,” he stressed.

The insane hours the cast and crew put into the show have also shown Grey to be resilient.

“It’s all about being a champion, overcoming and giving what you need to give. And that comes from believing in yourself in order to be greater in this world.”
