Miguel Performs With Hooks in His Back During Album Preview
Miguel went all out during his invite-only album preview performance Friday night (Aug. 25) at Sony Studios in Los Angeles. The singer was suspended in mid-air with hooks through his skin as he sang a song from his upcoming project, “VISCERA”
The song "Rope" reportedly featured the lyrics "I'm hanging onto nothing / I'm hanging from the ceiling."
From the stage, the shirtless singer had staff members pierce metal hooks through his back and attach him to wires hanging down from the ceiling. He took a few steps forward so that the audience could see that the hooks were hanging from his bare skin.
He was then lifted into mid-air as he sang and was gently lowered at the end of the performance.
According to TMZ, the crowd was told beforehand Miguel would be putting on an innovative, "boundary-pushing" show that featured a 4-song set.
Audiences reportedly loved the stunt and applauded wildly.
“VISCERA” does not yet have a release date, but it will be the "Sure Thing" singer's first album since 2017's “War & Leisure.”
