On a show that has seen its fair share of changes over the past six years, Wendy Raquel Robinson has been the one constant. The veteran star of The Game talks to us about letting go of the past, getting back into shoot mode and why Season 6 is going to be the best yet. 
Congratulations on the new season and the 100th episode. Quite a milestone for you!
Thank you, honey! I can tell you, this one is going to be the best one yet. It's the most challenging by far.
What makes you say that?
Well, for me personally, I just surrendered to the process. I stopped judging it. I didn't judge my character. I just dove in and decided to just enjoy it. 
When you say surrender to the process, do you mean all the changes to the show over the past couple of seasons?
As an actor, it's best not to anticipate. I had one of the best seasons yet because I went in mentally prepared, without judging, and told myself I'm gonna go with the flow. Yes, it was difficult going in knowing how different it was going to be, but we just surrendered to it and just had fun. People come in and out of your life for a reason, whether for a season, or for a lifetime. Yeah, there were a lot of changes, But, I feel like I have a lifetime relationship with Tia [Mowry] and with Pooch [Hall]. And I'm really happy to have these new people in my life.
There are two new castmembers this season. Did you assume the role of a mentor or help them in any way?
[Laughs] Why, 'cause I'm the veteran? No, no, these guys are smart. They know the game, even if they don't know this Game. But one thing I did when we first got back to Atlanta was I called Mara [Brock Akil] and said, "Let's just get everyone together for dinner." So we all went out, the cast and the writers, and broke the ice before going into the season. It was great for everybody. 
Is it difficult to get back into it after being on hiatus. 
To borrow a football analogy from the show, it's like going into training camp. We get in a week before shooting starts, get our housing situation sorted, get the scripts, do a table reading. For me, it's like putting on a great pair of shoes. They're already broken in, you just gotta put them back on. It feels great.
Do you enjoy shooting in Atlanta? It's becoming a major hub for entertainment these days.
You know, I was born and raised in L.A. I always said, "I'm not leaving. No way. My family is here, I have a business here." But when the show decided to move, it was a no-brainer for me. Now I have a great affinity for Atlanta. I love the people there, I love shooting there. I love that I have a driver who picks me up every morning so I'm not late for work. [Laughs] There are a lot of luxuries that I don't get at home. 
What can we expect from your character this season?
Honey, there's a big hole in the Sunbeams. We gotta pick a new president of the Sunbeams. [Winks] I got my eye on that.
