Hip Hop Awards 2022: 5 Hip Hop Artists Who Understood the Assignment at This Year’s Show

However, before you do, check out five of our favorite performances from musical guests we felt understood the assignment.
King Combs
Bad Boy Records heir King Combs proved he is keeping the artistry and legacy alive and well following a fiery performance of his latest single, "Can't Stop Won't Stop," featuring Kodak Black, who did not appear for the segment. This marks the rising entertainer’s first-ever solo show on the BET Hip Hop Awards stage.
Fivio Foreign
Rising drill rapper Fivio Foreign brought Brooklyn to the BET Hip Hop Award stage performing his smash hit “City of Gods” featuring Alicia Keys. He was later joined by Lil Tjay, who declared his return to music by performing his newest record, “Beat The Odds.” Fivio returned to the stage, where the two performed “Big Drip.”
GloRilla
Memphis-based rapper GloRilla has been a trending name in music following the release of her smash “FNF (Let’s Go)” with producer Hitkidd. After taking home the award for “Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist” of the year, Glo returned for her debut performance of her breakout hit “FNF'' and “Tomorrow !” on the Hip Hop Awards stage.

Loud Records Tribute
The 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards celebrated 30 years of the iconic LOUD Records and its pioneering founder Steve Rifkind. The music executive has signed and launched the careers of countless acts, including Akon, Twista, Mobb Deep, this year’s host Fat Joe and many more. David Banner featuring Lil’ Flip, Dead Prez, Fat Joe, Mobb Deep with Lil’ Kim, M.O.P., Remy Ma, Three 6 Mafia, and Wu-Tang Clan, all took to the stage for a musical tribute to one of the most prolific record labels to be created for hip hop music.
Joey Bada$$
Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ paid tribute to the rappers who were tragically taken too soon due to gun and other acts of violence. Following a heartfelt tribute to the late Young Dolph, Joey dedicated his performance of his song “Head High” to the emcees who were no longer with us.
The rapper was accompanied on stage by ten guys wearing hoodies with names on the back of rappers who have died in violence as far as 1986, including Scott La Rock, Big L, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, XXXTENTACION, Nipsey Hussle, King Von, Pop Smoke, Young Dolph, and PnB Rock.
