Storm Reid Says It’s ‘Bittersweet’ to Not Return to ‘Euphoria’

The actress will not return for the third and final season of HBO drama ‘Euphoria.’

Storm Reid doesn’t have hard feelings about being amiss from the third and final season of “Euphoria.”

The actress attended TIME’s Women of the Year dinner in Hollywood on Tuesday, February 25, where she shared words of support for “Euphoria” lead Zendaya. On the HBO drama, Reid played Gia, the younger sister of Zendaya’s Rue. After repeated delays, the show is filming and is slated to return in early 2026. Also not returning to “Euphoria” are Nika King, Austin Abrams and Algee Smith. At the same time, former castmate Barbie Ferreira previously exited the show, and Angus Cloud died from a drug overdose in 2023.

“That’s gonna be my sister for life, so I’m sure we’ll work together again one day in some capacity,” Reid told “Variety” about her friendship with Zendaya.

“[It’s] bittersweet,” she continued. “I love Gia. I loved being able to embody her and give her life. I’m really excited for Season 3. I know they’re going to do something special and it’s going to be good.”

Reid previously shared her excitement about the continuation of the series during a run-in with TMZ last month. “Just being with the whole crew and cast has been such an amazing experience, and I’m forever indebted to the show,” she said. I’ll miss them. I’ll miss hanging out with them but it’s going to be a good reason and I can’t wait to watch. … Schedules just can’t align sometimes.”
