Jordin Sparks to Sing National Anthem at MLB All-Star Game

Pop singer will perform in front of hometown crowd.

Major League Baseball recruited a local celebrity to sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at their All-Star game next week. Jordin Sparks will perform the anthem on July 12 at Chase Field in her hometown, Phoenix.
According to NY Daily News, the pop singer will also play in the celebrity softball game alongside singer Michelle Branch, former New York Yankee great Bernie Williams and many more sports and entertainment stars.
Sparks is no stranger to the field, singing the national anthem at the 2008 Super Bowl and spending her childhood years as an NFL brat to her father, Phillippi Sparks, who was a defensive back for the New York Giants.
The 2011 MLB All-Star game airs on FOX, July 12, at 8 p.m.
