Kid Cudi has the utmost respect for Kanye West and even experiences a bit of fear while working with him. The two G.O.O.D. Music family members recently appeared with the rest of their crew on the cover of Complex magazine. During his interview, Cudi spoke about what it’s like to be in the studio with 'Ye, and clearly he holds his mentor in the highest esteem.

“Working with him now is still really scary. He has a specific vision for things and you want to get it right for him,” said the rapper. “When I don’t, I get frustrated with myself. Or if he misunderstands something and then I’m like, ‘No. That’s not what I meant.’ You just want to make it right and contribute. It’s a bummer if you don’t get what he wants at first, but you just keep at it and it’s always a group thing.”

The Cleveland hip hop artist has released two solo studio albums and sold over 4.6 million digital singles. He’s gearing up to premiere the Cruel Summer album with his G.O.O.D. family in September, but still can’t imagine not being nervous when collaborating with West.

“It’s always going to be that pressure. I don’t think I’m never going to be comfortable in a studio with him? If that happens, it’d be awesome, but I’m always going to hold him in that high regard,” he said.

Calling Yeezy a “legend,” Cudi is excited about his upcoming studio album indicud and says he’s been “writing some s--t that’s going to f--k people up.” Kanye’s mentee is blazing his own trail and very excited about his future.
