Children of God Hits New York Theaters Today

From up-and-coming director Kareem Mortimer, the indie movie boldly grapples with homophobia in the West Indies.

Indie films like Desert Flower and I Will Follow have been performing well at the box office in 2011. Now, Children of God, a BET.com selection as one of the top 10 films of 2010, is getting its New York theatrical release. 
Written and directed by Bahamian native Kareem Mortimer, Children of God grapples wiith homophobia in the Bahamas, religion and challenging the notion of being a child of God. The flick has already received positive reviews from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter

In addition, the movie features a group of up-and-coming Black talents such as Van Brown and Stephen Tyrone Williams and a phenomenal performance from Margaret Laurena KempClick here for the BET.com review.
