50 Cent's Ex: He Beat Me in Front of Our Son
50 Cent and his ex Shaniqua Tompkins are still in the business of mudslinging, and this time the allegations involve domestic violence.
Tompkins, mother to Fif's eldest, Marquise Jackson, spoke to Atlanta's V103 radio station last week about her ex missing their son's high school graduation. In talking about his absence from the ceremony, she threw in some explosive allegations about their volatile relationship.
To start, Tompkins said that Fif hasn't spoken to his son since May 2012, and didn't need an invitation to the teen's graduation. She also said that he only pays child support — not school tuition — as he claimed. "I didn't know a parent needed an invitation to a graduation," she quipped. "He is privy to the same information that I am privy to as a parent. You can call the school [for graduation information], you can ask as a parent of a senior … there were no tickets. It was on the lawn of the school. People that I did invite stood on the side and watched the graduation."
Fif, aka Curtis Jackson, has said in the press that Tompkins is money hungry, and blames her for leaking stories to TMZ, which she denied. Tompkins said that TMZ reached out to her about the graduation story, and that the rap star ruined her shot at making money. "I had a deal with a reality show, the show was canceled but everybody got paid their full contract but me," she said. "So you saying, 'Get a job,' I had one!"
Later in the interview, she detailed a physical altercation in front the then 10-year-old Marquise and his sister, who is her oldest child. "When my daughter saw it [the abuse], that was my breaking point," she said.
Tompkins confessed to cheating on 50 at the time (she maintained that it was after he allegedly cheated on her first) and when he found out, he flipped. "When I got home he lost it completely, even when my daughter walked in the room he still was hitting me," she recalled. "I hate to sound like a battered woman, it just bothers me … he really lost it. He just broke down and cried, that's why I say it's so scary … because he was hitting me in one moment and he's angry, but the next minute he's in my lap crying like a baby. It's a lotta issues there."
In her mind, Fif's still dealing with childhood abandonment issues that stem from his mother's death. Over the years he has created his own "reality," one that Marquise is no longer as affected by. "He misses his dad, he loves his dad," Tompkins pointed out. "Of course it hurts, but I think when a person does stupid things all the time, it starts to lose its impact. He's just being him and I think Marquise feels sorry for him."
According to Tompkins, the last time she spoke to the G-Unit founder was in 2013 after he assaulted his other son's mother, Daphne Joy. He was given probation for attacking Joy.
