DMX to Release Two Albums of Unreleased Music
Fans have been waiting a long time for new material from DMX, but his forthcoming Undisputed album might not be exactly what they were hoping for.
According to Hip Hop DX, the Dark Man X will release two new albums this year — the only catch is they'll be mostly compilations of music that has been made over the past few years.
Seven Arts Entertainment Inc. recently purchased David Michery's music assets, which included some of DMX's music. Under the agreement, X's upcoming album Undisputed will be released in the second quarter of 2012 through Fontana Distribution, a division of Universal Music Group. That LP will then be followed by another project that will consist of more previously unreleased material.
It's not exactly the comeback fans were looking for, but they still have the Ruff Ryders reunion to look forward to. The East Coast crew put out a fifth collaboration album last year titled Past, Present, Future, which was their first since 2005. Speaking to TMZ, DMX said he had a good feeling about the reunion.
"We are all family and we're going to come back stronger than when we left.... It's going to take the nation by storm," he said.
Swizz Beatz, Drag-On and Murda Mook are reportedly already on board for a tour. Previously, Eve also indicated that she is willing to get back with the group, while X said he still needs to talk to members of The Lox (Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch).
