Ashanti Hints at Wanting Baby No. 2 with Nelly
Ashanti is embracing motherhood—and she’s already thinking about expanding her family.
Nearly a year after welcoming her first child, Kareem Kenkaide KK Haynes, with longtime love Nelly, the R&B icon is ready for more.
“We’re going to add some more,” Ashanti teased in a recent interview with E! News, hinting at her hopes for a baby girl. “Definitely a girl to balance it out. I’m outnumbered in the house right now. So, a girl would be great.”
The “Foolish” hitmaker couldn’t contain her joy when talking about her journey as a new mom. “I am feeling amazing, incredibly pleased, humbled. My life has completely changed for the better. I feel full, you know? My cup is full,” she gushed.
Motherhood has also deepened her passion for giving back. Ashanti revealed that she and Nelly are looking into ways to support women and children in need, including potential collaborations with brands and shelters for displaced families.“
“[Now] I’m like, what else can we do? Can we donate? We have tons of clothes. We’re always giving things away,” she shared, emphasizing the “increase of love” that comes with parenting.
Ashanti and Nelly rekindled their relationship in 2023 after nearly a decade apart, following an 11-year on-and-off romance. They welcomed their son in July 2024.
