Frank Ocean Drops Out Of Second Weekend Of Coachella Due To Injury
Frank Ocean will not be performing at Coachella for a second weekend, the renowned singer announced on Wednesday (April 19).
A rep for Ocean told PEOPLE that he suffered "an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up" to the first weekend of the Indio, California festival.
While he performed this past Sunday long after the scheduled time of his set, the “Thinkin Bout You” singer had to adjust his planned show due to his injuries and will sit out weekend two of Coachella on doctor’s advice.
Frank Ocean’s Performs For The First Time In Six Years In Return To Coachella Stage
"It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos," Ocean said in a statement, PEOPLE reports. "It isn't what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I'll see you soon."
Frank Ocean’s performance on Sunday night had notable issues that fans caught onto soon after he took the stage. Beginning his set just before 11 p.m. local time, he had to abruptly end the show at 12:20 a.m. due to curfew.
Ocean’s set was also not live-streamed on Coachella’s official YouTube channel, similar to artists like BLACKPINK and Bad Bunny.
Frank Ocean’s highly-anticipated appearance at Coachella came three years after he, along with Travis Scott and Rage Against the Machine, were slated to take over the 2020 edition of the festival. That event, of course, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
