Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was seen by the public today for the first time since being arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old.

He appeared at the Nassau County courthouse Thursday (December 10) for a preliminary hearing. The goal was to set a trial schedule with the judge and lawyers on the case, according to officials.

Maraj, 37, posted his $100,000 bail late last week and did not have to go through public arraignment after he claimed health issues impeded his ability to do so. He was arraigned from his hospital bed on December 3.

Jelani Maraj is accused of raping a 12-year-old multiple times, according to court documents. He was arrested a little over a week ago. According to the New York Daily News, the victim is someone Maraj had access to.
