Guess Who Jay Z Gets His Parenting Advice From...
Even when it comes to the most expertized of Hollywood figures, there’s a first time for everything.
For Brooklyn’s rap, business and fatherhood mogul Jay-Z, one of his first timers has come in the form of twins with legendary songstress, wife of nine years and mother of his firstborn daughter, Beyoncé.
But as Diddy, who fathers a pair of twins himself, has put it: a fellow hip-hop father in need is a fellow hip-hop father indeed.
Speaking with the host of Late Night With Seth Myers, Diddy appeared on the show Wednesday (June 28) to reveal the advice he gave to the new father of twins. Normally, the Roc Nation emperor is the one who has all the knowledge gems to drop, Puff said, but he was happy to return some fatherhood wisdom of his own.
“The thing that I said is that you really have to be prepared for double the love,” Puff shared of his guidance to Jay. “You’re used to getting love from one child, but when you get this incredible love from two kids and they’re twins, it’s truly a blessing, and may God bless him, and Beyoncé, and the family and everybody out there that has kids — period. That’s what really runs our lives, but to have twins is double the fun.”
Realistically speaking, there’s also a lot of work behind raising twins as well, which Meyers questioned him about next. After a few chuckles that did more confirming of that fact than anything else, Diddy concluded with hilarious gratitude.
“It’s, uh — it’s — I just want to say thank you to the mother of my children!” he said before bursting into a fit of laughter that was contagious to both Meyers and the audience.
