In the wake of Lil Wayne’s epileptic episode over the weekend, hip-hop's elite, fans and others alike were sent into a tailspin over reports of the rapper's hospitalization.

Wayne's recent health scare, however, has shed light on the alarming effects of lean within the rap community ― namely with fellow lyricists like Ty Dolla $ign being vocal about the life-threatening habit. 

On Monday night (Sept. 4), TMZ caught up with the "So Am I" singer while leaving TAO Nightclub to see if he had any advice to offer fellow artists regarding the codeine-laced concoction. When asked if rappers should lay off the popular suppressant, Ty quickly responded, "Yes, lean is dead."

“Do what you want to do," he continued. "If it makes you feel good, do what you want to do.”

According to Wayne’s daughter, Reginae Carter, the Young Money head honcho is “doing fine” after being hospitalized in Chicago for multiple seizures. While the details regarding what led to the rapper's alarming condition are scarce, Weezy is reportedly stable and resting after suffering two minor seizures.
