Kid Cudi Drops Epic "Mr. Rager" Video
Kid Cudi's newest album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was released over nine months ago but the video for "Mr. Rager," one of the best songs on the album, premiered this week in New York's fashion week, according to MTV's RapFix.
Not to give it away, but the video is one big fight-scene-dream-sequence. About 100 men in well-tailored leather jackets wielding machetes, baseball bats, wrenches, crowbars and sledge hammers wait for Cudi as he walks up a flight of steps, wearing his own fashionable leather. He's forced to fight all of these men and, although he does hold his own, he's unable to come out victorious.
Surface to Air, a creative studio based in Paris, was behind a lot of the project. The video's director, Jeremie Rozan, works with Surface to Air Studios and Cudi has recently teamed up with their fashion division for an exclusive line of jackets, many of which are featured in the video.
Despite past bad press about his difficult history with drugs and alcohol, the G.O.O.D. music musician is continuing to branch out into new genres and mediums. He's been acting in HBOs "How to Make It In America," learned to play the guitar and has started a rock band, 2 Be Continuum. His most recent single, "Perfect Is the World" has a heavy rock vibe and may give us a glimpse into the new Cudi. Is this someone we want to see more of?
