Ludacris Warns Georgia Residents After Governor’s Decision To Reopen The State

“This is not the time to play games.”

Ludacris has joined the growing number of celebrities who are warning people to stay home as more states are starting to reopen their economies despite the continued grip of the coronavirus pandemic.

  • While many people are anxious to get back to normal, the Atlanta rapper is reminding people in his home state there is more at risk.

“Guess who is open to do your hair, nails, and eyebrows?” he rhetorically posed to his 11 million Instagram followers. “The funeral home! If you want an appointment, keep running around.”

In the post’s caption, Ludacris added, “Somebody had to say it. This is not the time to play games.”

  • His message comes after a number of governors declared that non-essential businesses such as gyms, salons, restaurants and theaters among other establishments can resume operations statewide at the end of this week against the advice of healthcare experts.

On Monday (April 20), Gov. Brian Kemp gave business the green light to open their doors as early as this Friday (April 24), even though the state of Georgia has been plagued with more than 21,000 confirmed coronavirus cases. Many people are concerned because the coronavirus has not hit its peak yet, as Trump purported, according to a report from NBC News.

  • Diddy, T.I., Cardi B, 2 Chainz, Jeezy and others from the hip-hop community voiced their disapproval over the state leader’s hastiness to bolster their economies. Fellow Atlanta rapper Killer Mike informed TMZ that he will not be opening his barber shops despite Kemp’s directive.

“At this time, as a business, we aren’t comfortable opening,” he told the outlet “So, we’re gonna wait a while before we reopen because in our community people...there are more of us who are dying unfortunately.”
