Monica's schedule has been a busy one with raising three children, breastfeeding her youngest, and growing her career. In a recent sit-down with Hello Beautiful, the singer talked about how she balances work and motherhood, instilling values of selflessness in her children, and what she loves most about parenting.
"The best part of being a mom to me is the unconditional love," she said. "I have never felt a love as pure, a love that's as rewarding. When I look at different things they do, nothing makes me laugh more, nothing makes me smile more. It's just an amazing feeling and to see them grow and look at me through the eyes of strictly, just pure unadulterated love is something I don't see or find anywhere else. And that's the best part about being a mom because it reminds me that God is love and that there is a love that is pure that I can experience no matter what else I'm faced with in the world."
And it sounds like that the 33-year-old singer is doing a fantastic job teaching her children how to be selfless and look out for others. She recounted how she thought her son's appetite had increased when he started taking two of everything when she'd prepare his school lunches. Turns out her boy was just looking out for a classmate who would go without lunch because her mother couldn't afford food for her children.
"What I thought was him having that growing boy appetite, ended up being him bringing extra all the time to make sure that she ate. And it warmed my heart to know that he's understood the selflessness I speak of when you're blessed, be a blessing."
