Trey Songz Opens Up in New Documentary
Yesterday Trey Songz released a six-track mixtape titled Intermission and today he followed with his new documentary, TRIGGA Reloaded – The Intermission.
The new doc gives everyone a closer look at the man that is the machine that we know as Trey Songz. For almost 25 minutes you are with the crooner as he preps the release of his last album, Trigga, films music videos, tours with Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj and connects with fans. But, most important, you get to see the more vulnerable and honest moments that he has.
When it comes to love, Trigga seems to be waiting for the right time, right person and whatever God has in store for him.
"When it comes to love, I want a woman I can love [and] look in her eyes and see my whole future," he said. "But, how will I know when that is 'cause I don't stick around long enough. And even when I'm there, am I all the way in it?"
He moves on to discuss the fact that people crave love in R&B, but seem to latch onto his more sexually charged songs, discounting some of his catalog.
"How can you be Trey Songz when you sing, 'A man can't be a man without a woman,' and nobody listens? But then you sing, 'Na Na,' and everybody pays attention? But it don't really mean nothin'." He continued, "But everybody pays attention and scrutinize."
After 10 years in the game it's clear that even he's got a lot figured out, and whatever Trey may seem unsure about, he's on a quest for clarity, answers and growth.
