Skylar Diggins Shares Some Huge News!

The WNBA beauty is going to disappoint a lot of people with this move.

Skylar Diggins just disappointed a whole bunch of her admirers. The WNBA player took to her Instagram and Twitter accounts to announce that she and her longtime boo, former Notre Dame football player Daniel Smith, are engaged.

The Dallas Wings basketball player — who’s backed by Jay Zs Roc Nation — posted pictures not only of herself embracing her fiancé, but of the very moment they became engaged. Smith brought Diggins to the Mary Tomas Gallery in Dallas and hired a photographer to capture the romantic moment. In one picture, the two stare adoringly into each other's eyes while Diggins shows off her lovely ring.

Diggins captioned one pic, in addition to referring to Smith as her “husband-crush Monday.” The future groom echoed her sentiments on Monday, calling Diggins his “‘beautiful wife, beautiful wife.'”
Diggins is one of the most prominent players to currently play for the WNBA. She definitely experienced many struggles when she first starting playing basketball. “[Boys] didn’t pass me the ball at first, so I didn’t have a chance to show them what I got,” the two-time WNBA All-Star told Vogue in an April 2014 interview. “And then one game I got the ball. Everybody just drives right, drives right, and I had a wide-open lane on the left, so I laid up and made it. They passed it to me from that point on.”

Diggins and Smith first met while both attending college at Notre Dame. The couple made headlines two years ago when Drake obsessively praised Diggins with his poem “Can I Dig In?” while hosting the 2014 ESPYS. A very angry Smith called out the rapper for flirting with his girlfriend in such a public way. If something like that happens again, he'll now be able to refer to Diggins as his wife. The two already seem excited at the prospect of calling each other husband and wife.
