Shemar Moore Shares Heartbreaking Memories Of His ‘Young And The Restless’ Co-Star Kristoff St. John Following His Sudden Death
Young and the Restless veteran Kristoff St. John recently died, and with his shocking passing, several of his friends, family members and admirers have taken to social media to share their fondest memories of him.
One of the most touching accounts came from St. John's former soap opera co-star Shemar Moore, who, in addition to remembering the late star on Twitter, opened up to People about their tight bond.
Moore, who starred opposite St. John as his character's half-brother in the hugely popular daytime soap opera, first took to Twitter to mourn the loss of the actor he heralded as his brother.
In addition to the brief and heartfelt post, Moore spoke with People about their relationship, which he held quite dear to his heart.
"I'm raised an only child, but Kristoff is truly the closest thing to a brother and a brother's love and a brother's mentorship that I've ever known," he said. "He didn't have to embrace me the way he did. When I came in and was trying to find my way and he saw how scared I was, he saw how nervous I was."
The Criminal Minds star went on to say that St. John embraced him "like a brother" and credits him for being the reason he got off to such a strong start in his acting career.
"If he hadn't embraced me, I would have never got my sure footing in the beginning days," he admitted. "I will give Kristoff, and I always have given Kristoff — and I'm not just saying this to be cute because of what's happening today — I told him in the beginning because he embraced me the way he embraced me is the only reason that I have the life and career that I have."
As previously reported, Kristoff St. John was found dead at his San Fernando Valley home on Sunday when friends went to check on him. He was 52.
In addition to Shemar Moore, several other celebrities including the likes of Viola Davis, Vivica A. Fox, Yvette Nicole Brown and more took to social media to share their condolences and memories of the late soap opera icon. May he rest in peace.
