DeMarcus Cousins Responds to Trade Rumors By Putting Coach George Karl on Blast
After finishing last season with a dreadful 21-61 record, the Los Angeles Lakers need all the help possible.
Perhaps a little Boogie in their step will help.
Sources told ESPN that the Lakers are aggressively looking to trade for Sacramento Kings' All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins and are exploring a three-way trade with the Orlando Magic to land the 24-year-old superstar. All three teams own top-6 picks in Thursday night's NBA draft and Magic center Nikola Vucevic could technically slide into Cousins' spot in Sacramento. The Lakers' main movable assets include the No. 2 overall draft pick, young power forward Julius Randle and young guard Jordan Clarkson.
Upon hearing the rumblings about possibly being traded, Cousins took to his Twitter account and sent shots toward Kings head coach George Karl, referring to Karl as "snake in the grass" via emojis. This comes amid reports that Karl is pushing the Kings' front office to ship Cousins. Remember that Karl praised Cousins' talent, when assuming the helm of the Kings' team this past season.

Kings vice president and new lead decision-maker, Vlade Divac, told the Sacramento Bee "this is not happening," when suggestions about trading Cousins came up.
But if the Lakers were to land the 6-11, 270-pound Cousins, they'd be getting one of the best players in the NBA. Cousins, a first-time All-Star last season, averaged career highs in points (24.1), rebounds (12.7), assists (3.6) and blocks (1.7) per game. Aside from New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis, there isn't a better big man in the league.
At only 24, Cousins would also be the Lakers' biggest building block into a future past Kobe Bryant.
Let's see how this rumored report pans out.
