It’s been nearly two weeks since the untimely demise of Migos member, Takeoff. One day after the 28-year-old’s celebration of life in Atlanta, Quavo shares a letter he wrote for his nephew and a photo dump of the two over the years via Instagram.
The letter written by Quavo was read during his speech at Takeoff’s Celebration of Life ceremony at a packed out State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
“It's so hard to tell you Ima miss you because you always with me and we did everything together.
Since we were kids you been by my side
lookin up at me, them eyes waiting on me to make the next move.. then you followed up right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you can do it right with me. You never competed with me, we were always on same team,” Quavo, 31, wrote.
Born Kirsnick Khari Ball on June 18, 1994, Takeoff was fatally shot in the early morning of November 1, outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas.
Quavo said it was Takeoff who had the dream to become a rapper, “cuz I didn’t kno what I wanted to do.”
He also shared multiple photos of themselves from childhood to near-present time.
Cardi B also shared a heartfelt tribute to Takeoff on IG, expressing how much of a “nightmare” this has been.
“Takeoff, your untimely passing has brought a great deal of pain and sorrow to so many lives,” she said. “The impact you had in this world was so considerable and we have struggled to grasp this tragedy. I am heartbroken but I am grateful for all the precious memories we got to share while you were here with us.”
