A Fan Threw Champagne At Cardi B's Crew, And She Lost It
Cardi B may still be on a high from making chart-topping history and rubbing shoulders with hip-hop's elite, but the burgeoning talent isn't too far removed from her Bronx-born roots. And one of the rapper's fans recently had to learn that the hard way after their attempt to gain Cardi's attention resulted in a verbal lashing.
On Sunday (Oct. 8), the "Bodak Yellow" rapper took the stage at Pearl Beach Club in the tropics of Dominican Republic alongside Brooklyn's own Fabolous. During her performance, however, a fan eager to gain attention threw champagne on stage, which landed on Cardi and her entourage.
The rapper, not one to hold her tongue, quickly addressed the situation in the midst of performing. “Don’t throw no f***in’ champagne cause we can throw these mother-f***in’ hands,” she begins her srcatching rant. “I don’t give a f*ck what you payed for my n*gga, you can see me in New York. I don’t care, it’s not that serious. But you not going to be disrespecting my f***in’ people.”
Cardi's response immediately drew cheers from the crowd. But the rapper didn't stop there. Early Monday afternoon (Oct. 9), Cardi doubled-down on her statement in an Instagram post. "My momma taught me to stand up for who you love and go to war for them if necessary," she captioned a glam shot from the BET Hip-Hop Awards. "Sorry if you don't love yours like I love mines."
