DJ Khaled, Drake And Lil Baby Team Up For Bee Gees-Inspired ‘Staying Alive’
DJ Khaled is preparing to release his 13th solo studio album and is providing fans an offering from the project.
On Friday (August 5), the Miami DJ/producer dropped the single “Staying Alive” along with its official video. Featuring Drake and Lil Baby, the song is the lead track from God Did, which Khaled announced last month.
In an Instagram video posted on Thursday, Khaled spoke about his next LP: “I’ve been blessed to get so many great calls every day from all my peers, ‘Yo Khaled, I love your rollout,’ this and that. I told ’em, ‘Listen, I haven’t even started my rollout. But today we start. Tonight we start. Right now we start.”
The chorus for “Staying Alive” incorporates the 1977 Bee Gees song of the same name with Khaled rejuvenating the old school disco classic with sparse production and sharp hi-hats.
This is only the latest collaboration between the artists. Khaled and Drake connected previously on “I’m on One,” “Popstar,” “Greece,” and “No New Friends,” while Khaled and Baby collabed on “Every Chance I Get,” “You Stay,” and more.
God Did is slated for release on August 26. Watch “Staying Alive” below.
