Today the masses have learned that 2 Chainz wants to run for mayor in his hometown of College Park, Ga. And yes, although it sounds a bit odd, he wouldn't be the first celebrity who has taken a stab at running for political office seriously.
The "Birthday Song" rapper graduated from Alabama State University with a 4.0 average and revealed to XXL that he has what it takes to be a politician since he is, in fact, a musician.
“I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I’m really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park," he said. "I’m just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications.”
History has seen former President Ronald Reagan go from being one of old Hollywood's leading men to the highest office in the land, and action star Arnold Schwarzenneger become the governor of California, so there is a strong possibility that the rapper born Tauheed Epps may run, win and make history.
Although fans are hopeful, 2 Chainz also told XXL that whatever he does has to be organic. And with that, only time will tell what he does in the near future.
