This Teen's Tweet About Being Broke On First Date With His Girlfriend Is Stealing Everyone's Heart

"This story is a rite of passage if you were ever broke and tried to date someone."

We all know the feeling of being too broke to go out to eat but playing it cool so no one knows the depth of your empty pockets. One Dallas teen recently captured the hearts of many when he sent an honest tweet about not having enough money for a first date with his girlfriend.

17-year-old Kittakone Sirisombath Jr. has been dating his girlfriend, Destiny La'nae Irish, for eight months, reported Buzzfeed News. Although the two were just friends when Sirisombath first moved to Dallas, they got together in March when Irish texted him that she was hungry and Sirisombath offered to take her to Chili's for a burger.

However, Sirisombath only had enough money to pay for her portion of the meal, so he did not order anything and told Irish he'd eaten already.

  • In his tweet, Sirisombath admitted he just sat and watched Irish eat because he didn't have enough money to pay for two meals

  • The 17-year-old also admitted he pulled out his money under the table because he was afraid of what his girlfriend would think of him

  • Sirisombath finished up his tweets by admitting he would do it all again for Irish
