Kel Mitchell Overcomes 'Frightening' Medical Issue
Kel Mitchell is assuring his fans that he is doing well after experiencing a medical issue of an undisclosed nature.
He took to Instagram to share, "Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time. The scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I'm now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family."
Mitchell added, "Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can't thank you enough. Much love to each of you."
TMZ reported that the actor was admitted to a hospital in the Los Angeles area on Tuesday night (Nov. 7), entering through the emergency room. According to a witness, Kel seemed conscious and alert upon arrival.
Kenan Thompson showed his support for his friend and "Good Burger" and "Kenan & Kel" co-star by posting prayer hands emojis under Mitchell's post. Additional industry friends, such as Yvette Nicole Brown and Damon Wayans Jr., also conveyed their well wishes. Brown commented, "Glad youāre on the mend, friend!ā¤ļø," while Wayans wrote, "Glad youāre feeling better my brother ā„ļøšŖš¾."
Mitchell has four children. He has a 3-year-old son named Honor and a 6-year-old daughter named Wisdom with his wife, Asia Lee, whom he married in 2012. Additionally, he is the father of a 21-year-old daughter named Allure and a 24-year-old son named Lyric from his previous marriage to Tyisha Hampton.
The comedian is set to play his character, Ed, in the upcoming movie "Good Burger 2," the sequel to their 1997 film scheduled for release on Paramount+ on Nov. 22. "Good Burger" originated from a sketch on the Nickelodeon show "All That," which the comedians performed in during the '90s and early 2000s.
