Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to hit and run and was officially ordered to be booked on the charge during a hearing in a Van Nuys, CA, courtroom Tuesday (July 23). Two remaining charges, for driving without a license or insurance, were dropped by prosecutors.
Brown was ordered to show up at a sheriff's station next week to be booked. His probation — stemming from the assault on Rihanna a few years ago — was revoked this month.
In May, Brown, 24, hit Olga Kovalenko's Mercedes. At the time, he allegedly became irritated, berated her with expletives, then fled without handing over an ID or insurance. Kovalenko later dropped all charges.
Breezy's next court hearing will be Aug. 16 to set a trial date regarding his probation. According to a rep, he expects to have all charges dropped next week, and for the probation to be reinstated.
If things don't work out in his favor, the revocation will be upheld, and the Virginia native will be taken into custody to serve up to four years behind bars.
Brown was sentenced to serve five year's of probation alongside the completion of domestic violence awareness classes and community labor for attacking Rihanna after a Grammy party in 2009.
