As reported by The Guardian, a new study claims to have discovered the ideal penis size that women desire. Let's get right to it. It’s 6.3 inches for a long-term relationship and 6.4 inches for a one-time encounter, implying that women prefer a slightly smaller penis for getting down on the regular. This makes sense. Vaginas are, after all, subject to wear and tear.

Similar studies come up at least semi-frequently, although this is the first one to conclusively determine that women like penises that are slightly larger than average (5.2 inches). But hey, now you know: 6.35 inches for the median perfect peen. Although really, how can you tell? Are people bringing rulers into bed with them? Is middle school geometry a new sexual fetish? If so, where should you put a protractor?

Researchers from the University of California and the University of New Mexico presented 75 women with 33 penis models of different lengths and girths. All of the models were rendered in bright blue to “minimize racial skin color cues,” i.e. to keep people from penis stereotyping, which is all too real (for more on that subject, read this amazing NYT piece about the fear of the Black penis in popular culture).  

Women were asked what their preferred penis size was for a long-term partner and for a one-time sexual experience, aka a Tinder match. The average response was 6.3 inches in length and 4.8 inches in circumference for a relationship, and 6.4 inches in length and 5.0 inches in circumference for a one-night stand. But at the end of the day, for women who enjoy the eggplant emoji, is there really an ideal one? There can only be the perfect penis for you. Although all of these seem about right.
