2022 NAACP Image Awards: 5 Hits from This Years ‘Outstanding Male Artist’ Nominees

Which male artist do you think will take home the honors?

The music scene in 2021 was dominated by female artists rapping and singing about body positivity, marking their goals, living life to its fullest, and leaving no room for negativity. However, the fellas weren’t too far behind, severing us the ballads to cry along to over heartbreak and jams to bump to after we’ve weathered the star. This year’s NAACP Image Awards Male artist nominees did just that and then some. Ahead of this year’s ceremony honoring outstanding performances in film, television, theater, music, and literature here are the musical men nominated at this year’s award for “Outstanding Male Artist”.

  • Anthony Hamilton - Love Is The New Black

The multi-platinum selling soul singer Anthony Hamilton delivers his latest and highly anticipated studio effort in five years. Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal produced its lead single, “You Made of Fool of Me,” a ballad about being two-timed. Dupri also contributed to several tracks on the album.

  • Drake - Way 2 Sexy

The Grammy Award-winning rapper teams up with frequent collaborator Future and fellow Atlanta native Young Thug for the lead single off Drake’s sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy. In recent years, the Canadian rapper has leaned heavily into his seasoned acting chop for a comedic music video flooded with references to iconic pop moments and public figures.

  • Givēon - Heartbreak Anniversary

Ironically enough, the R&B crooner released this 2020 balled about the anniversary of heartbreak on another momentous day–his 25th birthday.
