Runners from Kenya dominated another marathon on Monday.

Geoffrey Mutai won the 115th Boston Marathon in 2 hours, 3 minutes, 2 seconds — the fastest time ever for a marathon. The  previous best of 2:03:59 was by Haile Gebrselassie in Berlin 2008, according to the Associated Press. The AP says that due to a strong tailwind Mutai's run won’t be recognized by track's international governing body as a record.

Caroline Kilel was the fastest woman, completing the race in 2:22:36. She beat American Desiree Davila by two seconds and continued the losing streak by Americans in the storied race.

As winners, Kilel and Mutai earned $150,000 each. Mutai gets $50,000 for his top speed and $25,000 for setting a course record.
