You Can Find Bobby Shmurda Studying Up in the Jail’s Law Library

The rapper himself has been hitting the books while awaiting new trial.

Bobby Shmurda has been in the throes of the legal justice system for over a year now and will have to continue to wait, with the news that his trial has been pushed back to May.

With another request for bail being shot down, how has he been spending his time locked up? In a new phone interview with Revolt TV, Shmurda shares that he’s been in the law library in an effort to be best prepared for whatever comes next.

“Really, I’m allowed to say everything, [so] right now I want everybody to know that I’m being targeted by police, the prosecutor. I’m being targeted by Manhattan judges, everything,” Shmurda says in the interview. “It’s a bunch of injustice going on with my case.”

Shmurda has been dedicating a lot of his time to doing his own research, saying, “I’ve been locked up for 14-15 months now [and] been in the law library, so I looked up several laws pertaining to my case saying that my bail isn’t supposed to be high and their violating the Eighth Amendment with that.”

According to Shmurda and his fans alike, the City of New York has been mishandling his case from the very beginning.

“They violating my constitutional rights, my civil rights, everything,” the rapper says. “I’m not even supposed to be in Manhattan right now. I want everybody to know that. All of this is claims. I got a narcotics D.A. and there’s no drugs caught in this case. There’s no drugs, no kingpin charges, nothing.”

Shmurda continues to hold onto his theory that he is being wrongly targeted by police and doesn’t feel optimistic his trial will actually happen come May.

“I’ve been ready to go to trial and put in a 730 motion… and they’re still not ready for trial and now it’s on May 11,” Shmurda continued. “After May, they’re probably going to push it back to August, September, who knows."

The rapper and his GS9 crew are facing a series of of conspiracy, gun and drug charges stemming from arrests made on December 17, 2014.
