Snoop Teaming With Pharrell on New Album
Snoop Dogg's next studio album will be a collaboration with Pharrell, MTV News reports. The 42-year-old rap star confirmed that Skatebaord P is fully involved in building the project, which won’t feature any of his old monikers, like Snoop Lion.
“It’s a great record me and Pharrell did from top to bottom,” Snoop said. “It feels good and I’m happy to be back in the studio working with one of my favorite producers and homeboys.”
He first teased a new collaboration with Pharrell last year. The album will be his 13th studio album, and first since last year’s Reincarnated. “It’s different — it’s completely different than anything we’ve ever done,” explained Uncle Snoop of teaming with Pharrell. “ It feels good, sounds good, looks good.”
Pharrell and the Neptunes have collaborated on lots of Snoop’s music, including 2003’s “Beautiful” and 2004’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
Besides working with Snoop, Pharrell is also executive producer on T.I.'s Paperwork, and Pusha T’s King Push LP.
