‘Stranger Things’ Actor Caleb McLaughlin Wants To Play DC’s Static

DC announced that a Static Shock film was on the way with Michael B. Jordan set to produce the project.

Caleb McLaughlin wants to take on the portrayal as DC’s Static!

During a Q&A session at Heros Comic Con Belgium 2022 in Brussels, the Stranger Things actor shared that he hopes to play a superhero and would love if it could be Static from the animated series Static Shock.

“What other movie would I like… I want to do a superhero film. I would love to play Static Shock honestly,” he said.

“I would want to do something like a superhero, or even something… it doesn’t matter. I’m really open to being any character. I feel like I can play anybody honestly. It really—I feel like how I pick my films is really what speaks to me.”

Back in 2020, DC announced that a Static Shock film was reportedly on the way. Michael B. Jordan is set to produce the project.

“I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around Black superheroes,” Jordan said when the news was shared that a Static Shock project was in the works.

Currently, McLaughlin co-stars in Netflix’s Stranger Things as Lucas Sinclair.
