Dipset's Official Reunion Show Has The Internet In A Frenzy
The likelihood of a Dipset reunion seemed unthinkable after Cam'ron livestreamed his epic response to Jim Jones' tear-filled interview with Funkmaster Flex.
However, as 2017 would have it, the seemingly impossible is never quite out of reach, with the seminal group's demise simply being overstated.
On Tuesday (Oct. 18), Spotify announced that the iconic Harlem quartet of Cam’Ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey would be reuniting at the fourth show of the six-city RapCaviar Live tour. The concert is slated to take place at the renowned Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Tuesday, November 21.
The forthcoming show is yet another step towards an official reunion since Cam and Jones’ relationship began to deteriorate (at least publicly) over a decade ago. The first plausible sign of a reunion happened back in 2010, when the two squashed the original iteration of their beef. The resulting song, “Salute,” had fans anticipating an inevitable reunion that failed to materialize fully.
The foursome joined Funkmaster Flex in 2015 — again with reunion talks. But, by early 2016, Cam and Jones were back to throwing verbal jabs. However, in spite of what has transpired, Cam and Jones have often maintained that they’re still very much brothers. And their upcoming performance may just be the start of a new chapter for the supergroup.
The show is also set to feature A$AP Mob and a host of special guests. Tickets go on sale this Friday (October 20) at 10 a.m. EST. Grab them here.
While there have been many false starts for a Dipset reunion in the past, Diplomat loyalists have wasted no time rejoicing the return of the hip-hop titans. Check out some of the best reactions below.
