You’ll Never Guess Why Frank Ocean Slams Travis Scott With A Cease And Desist
Travis Scott is not new to controversy. Since ASTROWORLD dropped in early August, a week ahead of Nicki Minaj’s Queen, the two have been at each other’s throats. However, when it was announced that everyone’s favorite ghostwriter-turned-R&B singer, Frank Ocean issued the Houston emcee with a cease-and-desist, fans were confused.
According to TMZ, La Flame was hit with the legal paperwork over Frank’s vocal alterations on the song, “Carousel.” The track features a verse and hook from the “Novacane” crooner, and it seemed that Frank didn’t approve of the changes prior to the project’s release. However, this was far from fact.
Frank took to Tumblr to address the alleged claims and set the record straight. He states that he “did the song in like 20 minutes and the mix sounds the way Travis wanted it to sound for his record.” The “Blonde” singer also did approve of the record prior to the cease-and-desist.
His issue isn’t with the song at all. With the usage of the rainbow emoji, it’s presumed that the legal battle has something to do with transgender model Amanda Lepore being removed from the album cover. Frank’s meaning behind it is never revealed, but he mentions Scott and himself settled their issue weeks ago.
