Is Soulja Boy's Mother Broke and on Welfare?
Soulja Boy's family is putting him on blast for leaving them behind.
In a new video posted to YouTube, his younger brother, rapper John Way, and mother reveal that they're kin's success didn't really trickle down to them. In fact, they say they're still living in the 'hood. BTW, did we mention John Way dropped a diss track about his famous brother?
In Way's diss track, "Overdue," the young rapper puts his many grievances with his older brother out in the open. "All on the 'gram flexin' like you the f**kin' man / My momma still on welfare, s**t I can't understand it," John Way said on the track. "This n***a is a fraud, that's exactly what I'm sayin' / The house you got is rented, the cars you drive is too / You even rent your crew, Atlanta isn't f**kin' with you."
To prove what he rapped is true, Way begins the video referencing the diss track, saying, "A lot of y'all think this is a game, a lot of y'all are laughing. Really listen to those lyrics on spin." He goes on, "If you know me, you know I'm a real dude. My momma right there."
His mother then looks up, and when Way asks her where they are, she responds, "We're at my house in the middle of the godd**ned hood."
Soulja Boy told his brother not to value "loyalty before muthaf**kin’ royalty," but it seems Way is claiming they never got a taste of any of Soulja Boy's royalties to begin with.
