ScHoolBoy Q Debuts 'Hoover Street' Music Video

TDE rapper chronicles growing up in South L.A., his introduction to gang life.

ScHoolBoy Q takes it back to his younger days in the music video for "Hoover Street," the latest release from his major label debut, Oxymoron

The video ode to his neighborhood block is a five-minute story detailing how Q — aka Quincy Hanley — descended into a gang life and the part his uncle played in influencing the decision.

Q was once a member of the "Hoover Crips" gang, and sold drugs, namely prescription pills, before rap stardom. Two young actors depict the TDE rhymer from a young child to a teenager, detailing how he grew up in South Los Angeles and fell in line with a criminal lifestyle. Gang banging, clashes with family members and drugs are central themes in the piece, directed by Yellow Nguyen and Moosa.

If all goes according to plan, "Hoover Street" will be one of many videos from Oxymoron. The 27-year-old rapper has ambitious plans to drop a video for every song off the 12-track release.

Q's latest single off Oxymoron is "Studio," featuring Windy City crooner BJ the Chicago Kid
