Despite Announcement From Trump's Team, Jennifer Holiday Hasn't Yet Agreed to Sing at Inauguration Concert
With Inauguration Day looming closer, Donald Trump's team has been reportedly struggling to find A-list artists to agree to perform prior to the president-elect being sworn into office.
Earlier today (Jan. 13) the folks helping organize Trump's inaugural festivities made a premature announcement regarding the "Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration," securing Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Holiday as a supporting act.
As it turns out, a rep for Jennifer Holiday has come forward to say that nothing has been set in stone, and the announcement came prior to her agreeing or declining the offer to perform.
"Jennifer has been asked to perform but she hasn’t officially agreed to do so yet,” her publicist, Bill Carpenter, stated, refuting the announcement. "I’ll let you know later this afternoon for sure if she’ll be performing."
Considering many celebrities have declined the invitation to join the event and have offered their criticisms publicly regarding the president-elect, if Holiday decides to perform, it won't be without many critics voicing their disdain for the decision.
We know Snoop Dogg, for one, certainly will have words for Holiday if she chooses to go through with it.
