The Funk Divas Coming to New York City
"Hold On" New York City, because Terry, Cindy, Maxine and, yes, Dawn, are coming to the B.B. King Blues Club for a one-night-only performance.
En Vogue was the '90s "it" group, topping the charts with songs like "My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)," "Whatta Man" and their 1996 hit, "Don't Let Go (Love)." In 1997, Dawn Robinson left the group, leaving fans dismayed. However, in 2008, Robinson officially rejoined, a move that resurrected the fever and soul of the original line-up.
The six-time Grammy nominees are known for their impeccable harmonies and polished dance moves. Who can forget those red dresses in the "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" video, or the flawless choreography in "Free Your Mind," which earned them three out of their seven MTV Video Music Awards? These ladies are divas in the best way and if you are a lover of '90s R&B, En Vogue live is a show that shouldn't be missed.
Let's just hope this New York City performance will inspire the ageless divas to get back in the studio and give us an album of new material!
En Vogue will be performing at the B.B. King Blues Club in New York City on Friday, October 21.
