Trump Slammed For Tweeting About Puerto Rico's 'Broken Infrastructure And Massive Debt' Instead Of Focusing On Relief
Throughout the week, Donald Trump has been extremely vocal about NFL protests and Republican's failed attempts to replace Obamacare; however, the president has notably been quite silent about the devastation in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico has been hit multiple times by hurricanes and tropical storms and the most recent passage of Hurricane Maria has left the island without power, supplies and running water.
Although many celebrities have called attention to desperate need of the island, Trump has not said much about what will be done to help. Yet on Tuesday, Trump tweeted a backhanded response about Puerto Rico and current crisis.
In a series of tweets, Trump brought up the 'debt' and 'broken infrastructure' of Puerto Rico before he mentioned any forms of relief
Many people felt the president's tweets, which appeared to blame Puerto Rico, were appalling
Trump was also called out for ignoring the island of Americans
