[Photos] You'll Never Doubt the Horror of a Goose Attack After Seeing This

Prepare to be terrified.

Bird attacks rank high among the "irrational" things that can strike fear into our hearts, but a bunch of photos recently posted to the internet prove that the fear may not be so unfounded, after all.
A neighbor of 17-year-old Stevie Gidden and her 5-year-old sister, Summer caught on camera the precise moment little Summer was attacked by a mother goose, and the resulting photos are completely terrifying. The two girls were walking around their neighborhood and caught a glimpse of some adorable baby geese. When they approached the goslings, they got a little too close and the mother goose attacked.

Summer was, unfortunately, run down by the protective mother and got a little roughed up. After the sisters escaped the goose's wrath, with the help of a nearby neighbor, their neighbor's spouse came over and showed them picrtures that they had captured of the harrowing attack.

Stevie promptly tweeted the photos, and they immediately went viral, getting over 51,000 retweets and 66,000 likes.

The responses to Stevie's tweet were just as hilarious.

Stevie has had to assure many concerned commenters that Summer was helped immediately, that the circustances surrounding the photos were not mean spirited. She also adds that other then the fact that Summer is now reluctant to go outside, and even more reluctant to approach birds, she is completely fine.

Stevie added that Summer is getting a kick out of the fact that their post went viral, and that it's the only thing she's talked about since it was posted.
