DL Hughley Slams Trump For Not Placing Hand Over Heart At Bush Funeral After Attacking Kaepernick
No one calls out the hypocrisy of Trump's presidency quite like comedian D.L. Hughley.
It's no secret that Trump has made it a second job to attack and criticize the NFL protest started by Colin Kaepernick. The president even went as far as to suggest that any player that kneels during the playing of the anthem should be fired.
Since Trump has also called the protest disrespectful to the American flag and our troops, Hughley criticized the president for not placing his hand over his heart during the funeral of George H.W. Bush.
"Trump said players who kneel in protest & don't salute the flag should be fired...so shouldn't a president who doesn't salute the flag be fired too?!!!!" Hughely commented on the image.
According to Snopes, the picture was taken during the procession of Bush's funeral. While Trump did briefly place is hand over his heart while the casket passed his pew, he dropped his hand before the casket was placed at rest. Other former presidents in the row, including Barack Obama, kept their hands over their hearts.
