Lil Kim to Release New Book and Documentary

Both will focus on the rapper's life before and after prison.

Lil Kim is working on a new book and documentary that will focus on her life before and since serving a one-year prison sentence back in 2005. The book will be titled The Price of Loyalty

On a recent interview with DJ Kay Slay on Shade 45, the Brooklyn rapper shared details about her upcoming projects.

"I’ve been independent; you know I left my record company two years ago. I was in another situation and that’s going to be in the documentary as well and why it took so long," she said. "I've been doing everything myself and quite frankly, for me to not have the backing, or the budget that I used to have, for me to be able to still move the way I move and be relevant the way I am, I feel blessed."

Lil Kim was incarcerated in a Philadelphia federal for lying to a grand jury about an altercation with Foxy Brown and Capone and Noreaga's crew. This will be her second attempt at publishing a book about her experiences. Her previous try was in 2008 before being sued by book publisher Simon & Schuster after accepting an advance but failing to deliver the manuscript.

“When I did my [first] book deal they were basically like ‘we want the Kim life story.' But my lawyers were like ‘no, no, that's like four different checks.” ‘Cause [my story is] to be continued, to be continued, to be continued," she said.
