Lil Wayne Joins Betty Wright On 'Grapes On A Vine'
Soul veteran Betty Wright, best known for her gem "The Clean Up Woman," is back … with a bit of hip hop help.
The singer's prepped a new album with The Roots entitled Betty Wright: The Movie. The first single "Grapes on a Vine" featuring a guest verse from Lil Wayne reached the Internet on Wednesday (November 9) and has been receiving solid reviews.
"Daddy always told me to be real, Daddy always said that I should say just what I feel," Wright sings over the guitar-led cut. "People they will judge you 'cause they just don't understand, you're in it for the long ride. You don't just give up on a man."
"Grapes on a vine, ain't nothing sweet, you gotta be pay the price, just keep your receipt," Lil Wayne raps during his guest verse, while a guitar wails in the background.
Betty Wright: The Movie is slated to hit shelves on November 15.
